Check Your Immigration Court Date

Staying prepared for your court appearance is one of the most important things you can do to protect your case. This guide shows how to look up your fecha de corte (immigration court date) through the official EOIR system — free, in English or Spanish, and without giving your information to anyone else.

La Migra App is not the immigration court. We do not store your A-Number and we cannot look up your case for you. This page explains how to use the official EOIR tools. Missing a hearing can result in an in-absentia removal order — check your date regularly.

Option 1: Call the free EOIR hotline

  1. Call 1-800-898-7180 (toll-free in the U.S., available 24/7).
  2. Press 2 for English or 1 for Spanish.
  3. Enter your 9-digit A-Number using the phone keypad. Do not include the letter "A".
  4. The system will read back your next hearing date, time, and courtroom, plus the status of any pending decision.

The hotline is operated by the immigration courts (EOIR), not by ICE. It is safe to call.

Option 2: Check online with ACIS

  1. Go to the official EOIR Automated Case Information System: acis.eoir.justice.gov (Spanish: acis.eoir.justice.gov/es).
  2. Enter your 9-digit A-Number.
  3. Review your next hearing date, courtroom, and judge assignment.
  4. Bookmark the page and check back weekly — hearings can be rescheduled with little notice.

Where to find your A-Number

  • On your Notice to Appear (NTA) — the first document the government gave you.
  • On any letter or hearing notice from the immigration court (EOIR).
  • On your Employment Authorization Document (EAD) — the "USCIS#" on your work permit.
  • On ICE detention or bond paperwork.

An A-Number is 9 digits, sometimes shown as A-XXX-XXX-XXX. Older numbers may be 8 digits — add a leading zero when entering them into the EOIR system.

How to prepare for your hearing

  • Arrive at the courthouse at least 30 minutes early. Security lines can be long.
  • Bring a government-issued ID and every document the court has sent you.
  • If you have a lawyer, confirm the date with them the week before. If you do not have a lawyer, search for free or low-cost help through the National Immigration Legal Services Directory.
  • Dress neatly and plan to be there for several hours — dockets often run long.
  • If you moved, file Form EOIR-33/IC with the court within 5 days of moving so hearing notices reach you.

What if I miss my court date?

Missing a hearing almost always results in an in-absentia removal order — the judge orders deportation without you being there. If you missed a date because of a serious reason (illness, no notice, wrong address on file), you may be able to file a Motion to Reopen. Contact an immigration attorney or accredited representative as soon as possible — deadlines are short.

Frequently asked questions

What is EOIR and how do I check my court date?

EOIR is the Executive Office for Immigration Review — the office that runs U.S. immigration courts. You can check your next hearing date online at acis.eoir.justice.gov/en/ or by calling the automated EOIR hotline at 1-800-898-7180 (press 1 for Spanish, then enter your 9-digit A-Number).

Where do I find my A-Number (Alien Registration Number)?

Your A-Number is a 9-digit number starting with 'A' on your Notice to Appear (NTA), any EOIR correspondence, your work permit (EAD), or ICE detention paperwork. Never share it publicly.

What happens if I miss my immigration court date?

Missing a hearing usually results in an in-absentia removal order — deportation ordered without you being present. Check your date regularly. If you truly cannot attend, contact your attorney immediately to file a motion.

Is the EOIR hotline free and confidential?

Yes. 1-800-898-7180 is toll-free in the U.S. It is an automated system run by the immigration courts — it does not share your call with ICE. La Migra App does not track or store your A-Number.
